Lauri Edwards, M.A.,

Training Background
Lauri received her Master's
degree in Counseling at Doane College of Lincoln, Nebraska in 2007.
Lauri's passion lies in working with children, adolescents,
and families. Her experience has been in the foster care system, the juvenile
justice system, private practice and a behavioral school. In these various
environments, Lauri worked with a variety of clientele from diverse backgrounds.
Lauri has been trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT),
Mandt (both verbal and physical), Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), and has
been qualified in administering the Meyers-Briggs Type Inventory (MBTI).
Lauri is currently supervised by Dr. Jeff Tarrant, Licensed Psychologist #01931
as a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor.
Theoretical Orientation/Approach to
Therapy
Lauri's theoretical orientation is in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Lauri also
finds play therapy and art therapy useful when working with children and
adolescents. She is open to using various components of her tool box in order
to provide individualized treatment specific to every client.
Lauri's mission is to be effective as a guide and model who will strive to
empower and educate children and families to reach their goals.
