She has served clients who have experienced severe trauma with resulting anxiety, depression and relational discord. She has helped clients address issues such as purpose and meaning, underlying fears, perfectionist thinking and ingrained patterns of behavior.
In addition to her work with individuals, Jill has provided marriage counseling and family therapy. As well, for those with faith rooted in Christianity, she has walked alongside clients who wish to examine their struggles from a spiritual perspective.
Approach to Therapy
In approaching therapy, Jill believes it is essential to form supportive and trusting relationships. Employing techniques of active listening, striving to be authentic, and utilizing a gentle sense of humor, Jill collaborates with clients to examine their beliefs and expectations. Additionally, she prompts clients to be open to feedback, believing wanted change happens when we gain insight. At times, Jill utilizes a practical and purpose driven approach, but always within the context of empathy, relationship, and sensitivity to client readiness.
